Block Engineering

Block Engineering is a developer of quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) and mid-infrared laser-based spectrometers for life science, security and safety, and industrial applications. Block's laser products include single and multiple tuner options for a wide range of applications and functions.    Our external cavity lasers offer fast and repeatable wavelength control across the mid-infrared spectrum, furnishing a selection of ranges from 5.4 to 12.8 µm.  These ranges may be attained via single lasers by means of our single QCL (sQCL) and the turn-key/benchtop LaserTune-S, or through employment of multiple QCLs to attain broader coverage by the Block LaserTune (up to four lasers) and the newly released Multiplexed QCL (mQCL), released in October of 2024.
